Work, study, chores... Don't you prefer the comfort of my matress ? This feeling of merge we share you and I ?

So many monsters out there. Monsters, monsters everywhere. Do you really want to let them in ?

Stay with me instead, in my sheets , forever.

Material living conditions, precariousness and depression are the themes we decided to address in our game. As students, it seems important to us to try and encourage discussions around these topics that are not talked about enough. In Five more Minutes, we follow the difficult daily life of a precarious working student. Between the obligation of having to work to survive, time-consuming studies and depression, she is overwhelmed by sleep paralysis as soon as she wakes up. This phenomenon is shown by a complete stillness, and as such, a complete inability to move one's body. This stillness is often accompanied by sensory, visual and/or auditory hallucinations. The person may also feel like they are dying or suffering from physical violence. People suffering from sleep paralysis may feel fear and anxiety to the point that they do not want to sleep anymore by fear of reliving this trauma.

//SPOILER : DON'T READ IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED THE GAME//

Through the gameplay of Five more Minutes, we're transcribing the daily life of a student who is a victim of her anguish. The controls help showing the difficulty one may face fighting their emotions, and they also show the feeling of helplessness, the loss of control that can be felt during the paralysis. However, the game offers to take different paths : staying in bed, fighting against daily life or finding a balance between these two parameters. We're not offering any solution to these issues, we're only shedding light on them without any wish of being moralizing.
